Google Maps Route Sharing

  • Drivers can now optionally add a Google Maps route link when posting a ride.
  • Passengers can view the driver’s shared route before booking when a route link is available.
  • This helps passengers better understand the travel path, pickup route, and destination direction.
  • Route sharing is optional and can be used by drivers who want to provide more trip clarity.

Recurring Ride Support

  • Drivers can now create recurring rides for repeated travel schedules.
  • Recurring rides support selected weekdays such as Monday–Friday office commutes.
  • Recurring rides are automatically generated within the selected date range.
  • This feature is especially useful for regular office, university, and intercity travel.

Email Notification System

  • SeatShareLK now supports transactional email notifications.
  • Drivers receive booking request emails.
  • Passengers receive booking acceptance and rejection emails.
  • Welcome emails and referral onboarding emails have been added.
  • Issue reporting emails and support notifications are now supported.

Referral System & Official Domain Launch

  • Users can now share referral codes and referral links directly from their profile.
  • Referral rewards are now supported for passenger and driver signups.

  • Users can now use SeatShareLK as a passenger, driver, or both.
  • Dual-role users can choose whether to continue as a passenger or driver.

Ride Booking Improvements

  • Passengers can request multiple seats.
  • Passengers can enter a drop-off point when booking.
  • Passengers can mark whether they are carrying luggage and enter number of bags.
  • Duplicate booking submissions are now prevented.
  • Bookings cannot be cancelled within 12 hours of departure.

  • Drivers can post rides with pickup point, departure time, arrival time, available seats, and price per seat.
  • Vehicle type, vehicle year, vehicle name, and number plate are supported.
  • Passenger seats are limited based on vehicle type.
  • Drivers can accept, reject, complete, and view booking requests.

  • Drivers and passengers can rate each other after completed rides.
  • Driver and passenger gender can be displayed where relevant.

  • SeatShareLK can be installed to the home screen as a PWA.
  • Install banner and app-like splash behaviour were added.
